It was a hit after the debacle of K-20
Xiaomi is the leading mobile phone brand in India. The latest model Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 sold out in few minutes after the flash sale went online. These budget phones are the key to the success of the company in the competitive Indian market. This was good for the company because it faced quite a backlash from its customers for K-20.
The mobile phones of the company are also available at the retail stores but most of the revenue is generated through the sale of the devices on e-commerce sites. The brand is quite popular among the masses as it allows them to use feature-filled phones at a cheaper rate.
Xiaomi started India operations back in 2015 and the company relied on online stores to market and sell their product rather than the normal route of retail stores. This helped the company to save money on the distribution channels and allowed them to sale the phones much cheaper price than its competitors.
The user base of the company is solid and growing
The marketing strategy soon got traction in the market and allowed the company to induce lots of customers who are also fans of the company. As of now, the Chinese smartphone maker is controlling more than half of the smartphone market in India. It has around 450 million users that approximately valued around 8 billion US dollars.
Once the brand considered cheap and unreliable is now got ahead of all the competition. At such a low price, the company gave many features that big brands were unable to deliver. This made the phones from the company instant hit among the Indian consumer.
This is not the only reason for the growth of Xiaomi, as the local companies were unable to produce quality smartphones at economical rates. If the company wants to keep leading and keep ahead of the competition they have to keep innovating and stretching the limits.
