Strengthening 5G networks and its commercialization, VIAVI aims to empower mobile operators
Viva Solutions Inc. (VIAVI) proudly announced that the company has provided industry-leading 5G wireless and optical test solutions to the world’s largest mobile operator China Mobile. VIAVI has been working closely with the operator since early 2018 in order to test the performance and capability of next-generation infrastructure for the commercial adoption of 5G technology in the future.
In 5G phase 1, during R&D test of wireless network equipment VIAVI supported CHINA Mobile Research Institute (CMRI) in rendering 5G base station performance using the VIAVI TM500 Network Tester. Network manufacturers and service providers use the TM500 to test complicated lab cases worldwide. Moreover, it includes 5G multi-UE peaks throughput testing, up to UL 8 layers and DL 16 layers.

5G network testing is going around with focused result to get minimum disturbances through it. Following the same, VIAVI is connecting with China Mobile to support the development of Slicing Packet Network (SPN) with FlexE interface technology for 5G transport networks. VIAVI’s SPN features in the ONT-600 QFlex Module based on China Mobile specifications. In the recent OptiNet China Conference, the ONT-600 QFLEX module used by China Mobile in a 5G multi-vendor bearing network interoperability test fully demonstrated the technological advantages of SPN technology for high bandwidth, low latency, ultra-high precision synchronization, flexible management, and control.
