TCS Looking to transform its IT Operating Model
TCS, the largest Indian company by market capitalization and India’s biggest IT services exporter has expanded its long-standing partnership with Walgreen Boots Alliance (WBA), an American Retail and Wholesale Pharmacy Company. TCS aims to transform its IT operating model through this partnership. The Indian IT giant said in a filing, “TCS has expanded its long-standing partnership with Walgreen Boots Alliance, a global leader in retail and wholesale pharmacy, to transform the latter’s IT operating model. The contract is valued over $1.5 billion over a 10 year period.”
Leading and Supporting Strategic Technology Projects
WBA has more than 18750 stores over 25 countries and it employs more than 440,000 people. It is into the business of retail, wholesale pharmacy, and equity method investments. The strategic partnership between WBA and TCS are going through expansion based on WBA’s review of its IT operating model and Vendor landscape.
Leading and supporting strategic technology projects that create customer value through development of new digital products and services will be the focus area of WBA global IT team, while TCS will offer run and operational managed services, including infrastructure and security operations, application maintenance and support.
