The internet has proven to be a powerful force in today’s world of communication. Through internet, sharing of a vast amount of data across the globe has made enterprises to fall prey to cybercrime through different forms of attacks. Also, the threat of cyberwarfare increases day after day. In the wake of breaches and high-profile data theft, it becomes crucial for enterprises to determine future threats and to reform their cybersafety stance. For this reason, new and old industry players should be poised to capitalize on the evolving cyberthreat landscape. The Founder and CEO of Cybint, Roy Zur believes that every leader has the responsibility of security. He further adds, As we enter an age that increasingly relies on cybersecurity, we all have the responsibility to do our part.
Identifying Threats and Acting on Them
As a retired Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Major, Roy has more than a decade experience in cybersecurity and intelligence operations. He has developed cyber education programs and technological solutions for companies, educational institutions, and government agencies around the world. The notion of founding Cybint came to him when he recognized the need of cybersecurity while serving in the IDF. There, the cyber intelligence expert witnessed that the IDF approach is to use accelerated learning to reskill and upskill learners. He believes that this approach needs to be adapted by the private sectors so that they can keep up with the pace of cyberthreats.
Being the Founder of Cybint, Roy has many responsibilities to perform and is tasked with driving expansion across the world. The versatile leader is always ready to explore creative ways to solve growing challenges in this continually evolving industry. The CEO Roy shares, “Within my 16 years of experience in cybersecurity, I have found this to be one of the most exciting, albeit challenging fields.”
Team Working Towards Vision
Incepted in 2014, Cybint is a comprehensive cyber education technology platform, born from a collaboration of global cyber expertise from the IDF, United States FBI, and higher education to enhance cyber skills. The company promotes a culture where everyone is on the same page and working in accordance with the same vision that is to create a safer digital world through education. The workforces of Cybint believe that protecting their assets, companies and national security, starts with cyber education. Among the other players, Cybint is emerging as a pioneer with a commitment to reskill and upskill everyone. Concurrently, it is creating a dynamic culture that allows for all employees to nurture talent and grow their skills within their own ranks.
Bridging the Gaps
Today, the CEO Roy and his team are working together to educate, train, and upskill people so that they can protect themselves against emerging cyberthreats. In doing so, they are bridging the skills gap and diminishing the workforce shortage in cybersecurity. To combat cybercrime, they are using their unique approach which fuses timely threat-based content, role specific learning paths, and accelerated training methods to maximize retention and minimize risk. As a result, learners get the experience of real-life scenarios and challenges, and prepare themselves against any threats.
Because of its commitment to protect against emerging threats, Cybint provides customized cyber education and training solutions for the specific needs of organizations. The company understands that training should not be a one-size-fits-all approach. Therefore, Roy and his team have developed specialized learning paths and assessments to determine the perfect cyber skills path for each learner.
Key Milestones
In 2018, Cybint launched the Cyber Center Global Network to connect higher-education institutions, industry, and government in a collaborative effort to provide advanced cyber education solutions to communities worldwide. In 2020, Roy is aiming to ramp up his efforts in combating cyber-crime and solve the cybersecurity skills gap. Furthermore, he plans to launch dozens of Cyber Centers together with institutions of higher education.
Collaboration is the Key for Better Security
In the coming years, the battle for a safer digital world will be spread across industries and nations. The CEO Roy believes that collaboration is the key to create a safer digital space in the future. There should be an association between industry, academia, and government. To tackle this issue, the company partners with private industry, academia, and government entities to help produce a strong, highly trained cadre of cybersecurity professionals through the launching regional cyber training and education centers on a global level.
Furthermore, Cybint recently has formed a partnership with CyberGym to form the Cyber Centers of Excellence Grant Program. The program, valued at over $5.6 million, awards selected universities and colleges its Cyber Launch Package, including military-grade, all-encompassing online training platform and at the same time, CyberGym’s state-of-the-art arena, emulating real-time attacks on operational environment and equipment.
One Secret about the Security Industry
Cybint Founder Roy shares a secret about the security industry that about 95% of data breaches involve human error in some capacity. This is why educating employees at all levels is so powerful against cybercriminals and needs to become a priority.
