LG announces its first 5G smartphone—V50 ThinQ

The South Korean brand, LG Electronics announced its first 5G smartphone with two screens working independently. This new model is designed with a powerful imaging hardware, top quality processor, and sleek design. It measures around 159.10×76.10×8.30 mm and weighs at 183 grams.

V50 ThinQ’s display is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, which is driven by fourth generation artificial intelligence. The device will have 6GB memory and 128GB storage, in addition, a microSD slot for 2TB of additional memory is also there. The device comes with 4000 mAh battery and also has a vapour chamber to manage the extra heat from the processor and battery providing better cooling.  

Dual Screen to enable the multitasking

The Innovatory gadget has a 6.4 inch QHD (1440 x 3120 pixels) OLED display and 19.5:9 aspect ratio with 538ppi pixel density and HDR10 support. Notably, the second screen gives users a mesmerizing and handy content consumption experience. This screen adds a 6.2 inch FHD (2160 x 1080 pixels) OLED display. The dual screen approach will enable the users to multitask and can even be used as a game controller. Additionally, this screen uses internal battery of V50 and is connected to the phone through special pogo pins existing on the backside of the phone.

Improved camera, audio, and other features

The newly engineered phone is comprised of one 16 MP and two 12 MP rear-facing cameras. In addition 8 MP and 5MP front-facing cameras are also available. Moreover, the device promises superior audio output as it is furnished with BoomBox stereo speakers, complemented by 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC and DTS:X 3D surround sound support.  Moreover, the device is water and dust resistance and is capable to support latest versions of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Teaming up to get ahead of the worldReportedly, LG and Sprint have worked as a team on this 5G smartphone. Sprint is the fourth largest mobile network operator in US. The release date and prising of the model are not yet announced by LG but Sprint has previously said it will turn on its 5G network in nine cities in the first half of 2019, comprising Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, New York City, Phoenix, and Washington, D.C.
