In the recent WWDC 2021 event, Apple announced the iOS 15 update. This annual developer conference covered the features which will further improve your iPhone. Although the iOS 14 is one of the most impressive updates, Apple is aiming to augment the features further and bring the much-needed life improvements with iOS 15.
This iOS 15 updates will be available for all iPhone 6s and up models, alongside the update will also be available for iPod Touch 7th generation. The beta version is ready to roll out this week and the update can be expected sometime later the year.
What’s new in iOS 15?
FaceTime with Friends on Android and Windows devices
This is the biggest improvement to iOS 15, as Apple is known for its walled-garden approach. But considering the rising competitors like the Microsoft team, Google Duo, and Zoom, their popularity has forced iPhones to open up FaceTime for other users.
“Find My” even when you’re offline
You can find the iPhone even if it is turned off, data is erased, or if someone tries to steal it. The activation lock will ensure that the iPhone is locked and locatable for you.
Privacy credentials upgraded
With iOS 15 the user will receive a timely Privacy Report that will keep track of all the apps that are collecting your data. It will also allow you to remove apps that are collecting more personal data than you’re comfortable sharing with. Also, the built-in mail app will now prevent the sender from capturing your IP address.
Do Not Disturb mode improved
iOS 15 has added three new modes to the classic Do Not Disturb— Personal, Work, and Sleep. These modes will allow you to access the selected apps and allow you to keep the focus on your tasks without other unnecessary nudges.
Maps get a 3D makeover
The maps will have a 3D view makeover and there are more details added to the map. The buildings, crosswalks, bike lanes, and overpasses are all visible. Also, the night view is more realistic now.
Web Extension for Safari
Safari has now available in tab view allowing the user to switch tabs. It has now brought controls to the bottom of the browser making it single-hand operational. Also, for the first time, Apple has added mobile web extension support to Safari.
