The initiative will streamline the process of verification
Bukalapak in partnership with Cermati has started an online credit card application service in Indonesia. The collaboration will allow the customers to pick a credit card from different banks which include BRI, Bank Mega, and Citi. After choosing the card of their choice the customer must fill in the personal details in a form for further verification.
The process of verification takes three days and the customer will be informed about confirmation of their application through email or phone call by the bank. Fajrin Rasyid, Co-founder and president of Bukalapak explained how the partnership will help the company to get a strategic edge and they will use this digital platform to increase its customer base.
Both the companies expecting huge growth in customer base
In an official statement he said, “To date, there are around 17 million Bukalapak users who have never used credit cards. Therefore, the Bukalapak partnership with Cermati is an important move where we offer an alternative transaction method that is safe, convenient, and beneficial for customers.”
The company is expecting 5,000 users in the first quarter with the new features in the market. Oby Sumampouw and Andhy Koesnandar who were software engineers along with industrial engineer Carlo Gandasubrata initiated the Cermati in the year 2015. The financial product marketplace helps customers with information related to finance and provide support to financial firms in the acquisition, risk assessments, and other services.
Bukalapak was labeled as a unicorn company in January 2018 is one of the largest e-commerce companies in Indonesia. The e-commerce platform has a strong base of 70 million users with the active support of 4 million sellers. Along with credit card the company also offers investment in gold and provide loan to SMEs.
