Rumored SiriOS to be launched
Till last year, Apple manufactured its macOS for its Mac devices such as MacBook laptops and Mac desktops, iOS for iPad tablets and iPhones, watchOS for Apple Watch and tvOS for Apple TV. But this year to all your surprise it launched iPadOS for its newly launched iPad tablets. Now, with the introduction of SiriOS, the company is not limiting its operating system only to its hardware devices and wants to extend the horizon of its OS. As the name suggests, the upcoming SiriOS will be completely dedicated to its voice-based assistant, Siri.
Introduction of SiriOS at WWDC 2020
According to the Voice trend report 2019 by Mangrove Capital Partners, Apple wants to boost up its Siri ecosystem across all its devices which may result in the introduction of its new operating system SiriOS at its WWDC 2020. As of now, there isn’t must detail available about SiriOS and what it is capable of, but the Siri will be open to all the developers. With the launching of SiriOS, it will make some rivals on the part, and some of the first names on the list are of Amazon Alexa skills. Amazon Alexa’s skill is also open to developers. It will result in more seamless performance across its Siri supporting platform that includes iPad, iPhone, tvOS and macOS.
Further the reported added, “Apple has been less effective at building an ecosystem around voice. With its vision of the ‘knowledge Navigator’, Apple’s voice strategy was more clearly articulated in 1987 than it is now. The voice community expects Apple to release a SiriOS for its developer community at WWDC 2020 which would accelerate innovation and adoption.”
Voice economy worth $1 Trillion
Some of the other likelihoods stated in the reports were that in the next 5-10 years, there would be no keyboards as all the devices would completely work on the voice assistant. All the users will be using the devices using voice commands. There would be a new product category in the future known as voice. According to the reports, by 2025 the ‘voice economy’ will be worth $1 trillion which will be more than the mobile app economy.
