Echo Show Smart Display joins Amazon’s range of smart speakers and smart home devices
Ecommerce giant Amazon has launched a new Amazon echo show smart display in an effort to expand its line-up of smart home products for the Indian market. The device which is priced at22, 999 will be available in a Black and White variant. Empowered by Alexa the voice assistant, it features a 10 inch HD display along with a 5 MP camera and a built in hub. Echo Show joins the company’s Echo Show range of smart speakers and smart home devices, including the Amazon Echo Input, Amazon Echo Dot (2018) and the Amazon Echo Plus (2018)
Design and Display of the Amazon Echo Show Smart Display
The Amazon Echo Show speaker features a plain fabric design which has a 10.1-inch HD display on the front. The Echo Show displays the necessary information on the screen. Along with that; there are speakers on the rear of the device which are tuned by Dolby, a reputed name in Audio technology. Along with that, the speakers have the Alexa voice assistant built in them and allow users to ask for information such as the weather, news or controlling other smart home devices.
Echo Show’s 5MP built-in front-facing camera can be used for video calling
The Echo Show also comes with a built-in 5MP front-facing camera that supports HD video calling. The speaker can be used to video call friends and family who have an Echo Spot, Echo Show or the Alexa App. Alternatively, users can also use Skype voice for video calling.
The eight-microphone array supports far field technology and multi-room music
The Echo Show comes with an eight-microphone array which supports far field technology the far field technology enables the speaker to differentiate the user’s voice from ambient sound effectively. This allegedly helps in hearing commands from far away in a room. The Echo Show also supports a feature for users who have multiple Echo smart devices, called multi-room music. This feature allows users to play music across compatible Echo devices throughout the home. Besides that, the users will be able to access music adjust treble, mid, and bass levels using voice commands.
Zigbee smart home hub helps users control all their smart home devices
The Echo Show comes with a built-in Zigbee smart home hub, which can be used by the users to control all their smart home devices. Users can just command Alexa to discover other smart devices; the smart speaker will automatically discover and setup compatible light bulbs and plugs without the need for additional hubs or apps.
