When it comes to a tool that can help you save money while saving face, one of the top of the bunch is the virtual office. Virtual offices are set to become increasingly popular as more businesses leave their downtown homes and relocate either where it is cheaper or at least where it is smaller. Alternatively, you may be building up your business and currently out of your home.

Not being in an expensive, central location is smart money-wise, but it is not the best reputation-wise. That is where the virtual office comes in. By subscribing either monthly or yearly, you can set your business’ address at a prime location and even benefit from other additional services.

Where Are Virtual Offices?

Virtual offices are very real. Every “virtual” one worth its weight is a physical location. The virtual offices in London, for example, are real office spaces in London. The difference is that you will not be using their facilities regularly. You can, of course, still go to them and can even use their facilities. You will need to book a meeting room and pay for its use, but the fact that you can host a client or potential business connection at the same address you have listed as your business’ location is so important.

Think that that is it? Think again. Most virtual offices also offer a variety of phone services. You can have calls redirected, voicemail services, and you can have messages taken, as well as a whole host of other benefits. When hiring these services, always add a phone service so that you can take advantage of every lead that comes your way, even if it comes at odd hours.

Should You Be Using a Virtual Office?

It entirely depends on your customer base and what sort of opportunities you are after. If you are a B2B business, for example, and want to work with the big league companies, you must be in a central location. If you are just starting out and want customers to feel like you are a professional, reputable company even if you are actually operating out of your home, then virtual offices can be a match made in heaven for you.

You will not want a virtual office if you already have a central location that you intend on keeping. You also will not need one if your customer base is locally near you. For example, if you are a grocer, you do not need a central downtown location when you really need a prime spot on your own high street.

That is why it is important to look at your business’ ideal audience first. Knowing who your audience is and what business relationships you want to make will be the determining factors that matter. Always choose the location where your audience is found most. If that is downtown, then use a virtual office. If it is in a local or rural community, stay there.
