AWS re/Start Program
Amazon Web Services has recently launched its re/Start program in India. It is a 12-week program for skills development and job training that will be offered to learners free of cost. The program has been launched to develop and train people in cloud computing without any prior technical experience or education.
AWS Collaboration with Educational Institutes
To deliver the program, Amazon has collaborated with five local educational institutes including EduBridge Learning, Edujobs Academy, iPrimed Education, Rooman.Net, and Vinsys IT Services. An expert instructor from each of these organizations based in six cities–Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, and Thiruvananthapuram, will provide virtual training. The AWS re/Start program has already been implemented in 25 countries including Australia, Belgium, Canada, Costa Rica, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, Ghana, Kenya, Lebanon, South Africa, Tunisia, UK, and the US.
AWS re/Start Collaboration with IT Sector
There is a huge demand for cloud-skilled workers in the industrial sector that has motivated Amazon to launch this program. Currently, organizations are struggling to find and hire talented cloud-skilled workers due to a lack of availability. Therefore, to overcome this, AWS re/Start will collaborate with various organizations and connect program graduates to potential employers. Many IT organizations are providing financial assistance to facilitate the AWS re-Start program. One such AWS Partner providing financial assistance is Capgemini. The IT major plans to interview and hire select program graduates in various cloud roles.
How does AWS re/Start Program Work? AWS re/Start program will mainly focus on developing AWS Cloud skills and practical career skills like interviewing and resume writing. Through real-world, scenario-based exercises, labs and coursework, students build Linux, Python, networking, security, and relational database skills. The participants will be prepared for entry-level cloud roles in operations, site reliability, infrastructure support, and more. After completion of the program, the participants will be required to clear the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification exam that will also be free of cost.
