According to a report, India’s Reliance Industries is looking forward to embedding its e-commerce app JioMart into WhatsApp by the mid of 2021. Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance industry – core business is oil and energy is now trying hard to step into e-commerce app. Last year in 2020, Reliance has raised about $26 billion from investors like Facebook & Google. WhatsApp has 400+ million users in India and this can be a good start for JioMart when it comes to gaining Indian customers especially when Grocery Delivery Apps like Amazon, Flipkart, and Bigbasket are already ruling the e-commerce in India.
How JioMart & WhatsApp collaboration will bring ease to Indians?
WhatsApp with more than 400 million users in India will provide access to the users to order groceries from Reliance’s JioMart without leaving the WhatsApp app. WhatsApp’s payment feature is now available for around 20 million users in India. This has been launched with support from banking partners including HDFC, Axis Bank, ICICI, and State Bank of India.
This payment facility from WhatsApp will also provide the user/customer to pay their bills without leaving the WhatsApp app and switching to other online payment options.
One of the key features of WhatsApp & Reliance’s JioMart collaboration will allow users to order their groceries through express delivery options by searching for local Kirana stores in their neighborhood.
