  • Galaxy S21 series having the highest sale.
  • Samsung chip sales were slow down.

Samsung leading smartphone market

According to market research company Canalys, Samsung reclaimed the title of the world’s largest smartphone maker from Apple. Accounting for one-fifth of total global sales in the first quarter of 2021. Xiaomi from China had the highest quarterly results ever, with sales up by 62 percent to 49 million phones and market share increasing to 14 percent. Holding third place behind Samsung and Apple. Samsung Electronics has recorded its strongest first-quarter earnings since 2018. It is because of strong smartphone sales led by its flagship Galaxy S21 line. The net profits of the Korean company Samsung rose 46.3 percent year on year to 7.1 trillion won. Sales of televisions and home appliances rose dramatically because of a pandemic.

Samsung attributed the improved success to sales of its flagship Galaxy S21. To appeal to more price-conscious consumers, Samsung reduced the starting price of its Galaxy S21 smartphones from last year’s S20 family by $200 to $800 in January, partly due to lower product prices and partly in acknowledgment of the fact that the world is fighting a pandemic.

Sales of chips was decreased

Solid mobile and consumer electronics sales outweighed lower semiconductor and monitor earnings. Despite strong demand due to a global shortage, Samsung’s chip company was hampered. It is because of the expense of ramping up domestic production and a storm-related stoppage at its Texas plant. Full manufacturing has resumed at the plant, and the world’s largest chipmaker expects better returns from its semiconductor industry in the second quarter in 2021.
